I Didn't Know These Are Slowly Destroying My Scrapbooks!


Once you spend your precious time and energy creating a
scrapbook, make sure it lasts! There are a few simple
things you can easily do to ensure that your scrapbooks look
just as good as the day you finished them, for years to
come.

The first thing to avoid is paper that is not lignin-free.
You've probably heard that before, and it is true, but what
is lignin anyways? Lignin is a stiff component of a plant
that quite literally holds it together. Although lignin is
necessary for plants and trees, you want nothing to do with
it! After a while, lignin will cause photos, fabrics and
other paper that touch it to turn brown. Yes, lignin-free
paper does cost more, but it is a vital part of preserving
your cherished scrapbooks.

If the paper is not lignin-free, it will eventually discolor
your photos and other materials touching it. So when buying
paper for your scrapbooking projects, be sure to look for
packages that say "lignin-free," because if it doesn't say
it, then it most likely isn't.

Fabric is a big concern for preserving your scrapbooks, but
unfortunately it is often overlooked. Many people assume
that all fabrics are acid-free, but they aren't. Silk
actually goes through an acid bath during the manufacturing
process, as well as many tie-dyed fabrics. This isn't to
discourage you from using it, not all. Just try to make
sure that no photos directly touch fabric, and if you need
them to overlap, make sure there is a layer of paper between
the two.

Another consideration when using fabrics is if the color
will bleed off onto your page and other things touching it.
To test for this, cut a square inch off and soak it in a
glass of water over night. If there is no color bleeding
from it the next day, then there isn't any risk to your
scrapbook. But if you do see color in the water, or
collecting at the bottom of the glass then don't use that
fabric in your scrapbook at all.

When using glitter, be sure there is a top layer of spray
adhesive to lock them down, or better yet use special
glitter glue where the glitter is mixed right in. If this is
not done right the glitter will slowly fall off, and loose
glitter means scratched photos.

After you have planned the layout for your photos, be sure
that you are using the right kind of mounting tape for them!

but when it come to mounting photos you need to use special

Customer Review: Hip Hop Music was glaringly absent from this program

I purchased this exercise program because I wanted to exercise to hip hop music. The music on these DVDs is pop music. A hip hop artist would be shot if he came out of the gate with the music on this DVD.



Anyway, even though the music was not as upbeat as I thought it would be, I kept the program and proceeded to do the exercises. The DVD I started off with was the buns and thighs DVD. After using it for less than 2 weeks, my butt debulked (from the yoga moves) and I was very impressed.



I then proceeded to do the cardio DVDs. One thing that I noticed was that nobody was sweating in the DVDs other than Shaun T. It was clear that he must have been under a heat lamp or something. The moves we were doing wouldn't burn any calories if you lit a match to the exercisers.



I ended up selling the program online.



This workout is not realistic and there is NO WAY Shaun T got those abs from these DVDs. He likely runs and does situps.



Also, the "how to dance segment" was too fast and not properly explained. Don't expect to learn to dance either off this set.



Buy the BUNS and thigh one and skip the rest.

Customer Review: not good at all!

this was not fun...the music was not what they showed either...BEWARE OF BEACH BODY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They even told me I had to send back the free things (tape measure and some piece of paper) or they would not give me a full refund! I later ordered p90x later and had to wait 15 min. on phone to have an automated voice tell me they "can't take my call due to high call volume" and then hung up. So I had to go to "live chat" and start in line at #28 for an hour for the operator to tell me they can't find me in the computer and try back tomorrow. Good luck!

Customer Review: Just an awesome TV-even without HD sources

After a lengthy research period, I finally settled on the 50" PZ77U. I'm happy to report that after two weeks of use the experience has been fantastic. First off, the picture is just gorgeous. Of course I expected that with HD cable and a Blu-Ray (PS3) player -- it's jaw-droppingly great -- but I was very impressed with the SD picture of this unit. Sure, it pales in comparison to HD, but the SD channels don't have that processed look that makes everything appear like it's been through a photoshop watercolor filter. I've seen that on a number of LCDs and plasmas before and it drives me nuts. Remember, they never will show a SD signal to you at most stores-- it's always a sharp HD signal. The good SD clarity is even more impressive for a 50" model.



I'm still in the break-in period-- trying to make sure the phosphors burn in easily; I downloaded a burn-in disc from eaprogramming.com, which has been helpful.



Lastly, a few nice words for the purchase experience via Amazon and 6ave: The unit was shipped to my home in Michigan within a week; upon delivery the unit was inspected as required; everything was great. I'd certainly use 6ave again.

I highly recommend this TV... first of all, why buy LCD for the same size when you can buy plasma for $1000 less? if u are worried about light reflection on the plasma TVs this panasonic has anti-glare in it... and the colors are jaw dropping....

This panasonic in specific I highly recommend because Panasonic is the 2nd best in Plasma after Pioneer (which is way over priced)... the 50PZ700U has better speakers than this one (but who buys a 50 inch TV without seperate speakers anyways) and u can hook your laptop to the TV and use it with the TV, but you would have to pay $300-400 more for it... if u need a 3rd HDMI input then go with the PZ750U nd play $600 more for it (I am sure 2 HDMI is more than u need)... so if u dont need to hook ur laptop to the TV and don't need a side HDMI cable that u probably wont use, then save urself $300-600 by buying this awesome TV right here, because the technology is the same...

I have an LCD Samsung and I have this 50PZ77u and i love my panasonic more.. with w panasonic blue ray (which uses the same remote control and is way better than the sony blue ray or samsung blue ray) then you wont go wrong... add some nice surround sound system and u will be amazed ...

Customer Review: What I have come to expect - POOR

Like most car repair manuals this one is not very helpful. This manual is for two very different cars that have the same engine....Talk about cheap. The steps are not always well documented and the few pictures are never of the part you need to see to finish the job and most of the pictures are not even for my car. I hope that someone will make an online or CD-rom version of car repairs that is actual usefully.

Customer Review: Flawed, but useful

This manual suffers the same problems most consumer car repair manuals suffer from.



It is not well illustrated: the illustrations are scanty, and sometimes confusing. For example: trying to locate the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve and related solenoids was an exercise in frustration. The illustration shows the EGR valve for a 4-cylinder car, but not one for the V-6 (which I have), except for a view from the bottom of the car. So locating it involved getting under the car, and looking with a light for about 15 minutes -- peering through the gaps in the exhaust system, frame braces, etc. Then, after I identified it, I had to somehow find it again from the top, because it can't be reached from the bottom except by dismantling a frame brace and assorted other stuff. I was finally able to locate it by touch.



Locating and identifying the little solenoid that sends vacuum to the EGR valve proved almost as frustrating. The manual doesn't show where it is located, or what it looks like. There is an illustration purporting to show it, but it doesn't match. I could go on.



To make this book really useful for the user, it should have well-drawn line drawings supplemented with numerous CLEAR photos showing the part in question in its many versions and forms, from different angles, etc. I'm sure this would make a larger, more expensive book, but it would also make it worth the money.



The second problem is the lack of sufficient instructions on how to get to or remove parts. The manual will say something like "remove the whatchamacallit cover." It doesn't tell you that to do it you have to remove 7 bolts, three of which are hidden, so that after removing the 4 visible ones you have to grunt and swear and curse until you finally figure out that there are more bolts to take off, AND that you have to slide the cover a certain way to make it come off. It also doesn't say that the whole job would be a lot easier if you take off something else first. I still haven't figured out how to take off the EGR valve without first removing the frame brace, air cleaner, throttle body, and perhaps even the entire intake manifold first -- about NONE of which the manual offers any hint.



The third problem is that some of the information is just wrong, at least for my car. The manual shows an electrical connector on the EGR valve lift sensor that has 6 terminals. It gives very precise instructions on how to test the sensor by checking resistance between terminals. The only problem is that the sensor on my car has only three terminals. How do I check the resistance on the sensor? I have no clue.



The previous reviewer's complaints about switching back and forth between different sections to get a job finished are on the mark also.



All in all, this is a frustrating book to depend on for information on repairs and trouble shooting. However, it is pretty much all that is out there, and it is useful for help in a number of small procedures, most of them not having to do with the engine. You can use it to troubleshoot engine problems, but it takes a lot of patience and a willingness to figure a lot of stuff out on your own, with only broad hints and inadequate illustrations for help.

Customer Review: I love Goo Gone

I bought this protection pack when I got my white MacBook. On my old Powerbook G4, I had a big problem of the keys leaving imprints on the screen, so I was excited about the keyboard cover. I used it for about a month before I realized that it was leaving it's own imprint on the screen. Since I stopped using it, I have no problems with key imprints, so I wouldn't use it.



With the wrist pad, I used it for about 8 months before the little strips below and above the trackpad lost their adhesiveness, and it got so bad, I decided to remove the whole pad. I have heard many people say that they removed their pad after a month or two and had no remaining adhesive gunk left behind. This was not what I found. The entire pad left a think layer of gunk that took me about 4 hours and quarter bottle of Goo Gone to remove. I was going to buy a new pad to replace the first one, but after that, I will not be buying a new pad.

Great products, I spent so much money on my MacBook, I didnt want anything to mess it up, so this is definitely helping with that. I haven't tried to peel the sticker/pad off yet, so I can't say anything about it's removal but it was easy to apply, and the keyboard cover/screen cleaner is nice. Won't remove fingerprints, but will gently remove dust.

Good product, good price.

The 3 Greatest Prosperity Books Of All Time

I'm fascinated by prosperity.

This year I've been reading numerous books on the topic. Here are my three favorites:

"Seed Money In Action" has stood the test of time. This forty year old little booklet has gone through 53 editions, sold 1,000,000 copies, and caused 40,000 people to write the authors and praise it.

The basic message is that as you give, you will receive ten-fold in return. This ancient secret helped create millionaires and billionaires throughout time, and still works today.

There's a catch, of course. You have a give with a mind-set of non-judgmental expectation. When you do, you're in the flow. Most people who are broke are practicing the scarcity principle, not the seed money principle.

I just got this bag a couple of days ago. I just put all my stuff in it and actually used it out for the first time today while shopping. I like the fact that it has lots of room inside and lots of pockets. I got this for eveyday use and I know it will come in handy when out with my kids, because of all the stuff I end up holding for them. I haven't tried putting a water bottle in it yet, but am sure one will fit. The only thing I didn't like about it was, the strap kept digging into my neck, but I am sure that once I get used to it and get the strap adjusted right, it should be fine. I love that I can walk around a store and be hands free and not have to worry about someone walking off with my bag. I think the over the body design will also help with the shoulder and back pain I get from hauling around a heavy bag on one side.

Very simple and cheap, but not much is needed from a book stand. Some reviewers complain that it doesn't hold paperbacks, but one can easily see from looking at it that it wouldn't be good for that, so I didn't knock it.



I use this stand to hold my textbooks up while I'm reading and taking notes, which is really nice to keep from having to hunch over a book to read it flat on a table. Also it allows the book to take up less desk space, which is nice when reading and using a computer at the same time. Since it's light and collapsable, it's also very useful to take along to classes and have the same benefits in the classroom as well.

This stand proved to be better that I expected. It holds large, heavy (read coffee table) books easily and is so portable as to be a pleasure. Folds very thin and can slip in the smallest tote or brief case. Also great for the morning paper (don't want to gump up your paper while you're buttering your bagel!); but if you are only a paperback reader, I'd give this one a pass. For the price, what's not to like!

The Sims 2 Seasons adds A LOT to gameplay! I as fairly disappointed after the release of The Sims 2 University - it lacked many objects and new gameplay. Seasons has both! After getting Sims fed, rested, and to the bathroom, there is usually very little time for them to do much else. Thats why this expansion pack is great - the seasons come naturally, as if in real life. Maxis promised us Seasons in the making of The Sims 2 game, and they definitely delivered on this one! There are dozens of new items, wallpapers, flooring, roofs, clothing, and even some new hairstyles. Sims can now play Marco-Polo in the pool, and go fishing in ponds! This expansion pack is a little more graphic-intense than the others, so make sure you are running at least the minimum specs on your computer. People I have talked to (as well as myself), don't appear to be having too much trouble with game lag after installing this expansion pack. I highly recommend Seasons, as one of, if not THE best expansion pack for The Sims 2 genre.

Buble chooses the very classic love songs familiar to the baby boomer generation. He does a terrific job with them, the interpretation and color he imparts makes you believe he understands the intent of the song writer of so long ago. Recommended to Sinatra groupies.

One key point: if you can get over the natural gag reflex of seeing hundreds of rodents swarming over a restaurant kitchen, you will be free to enjoy the glory of Ratatouille, a delectable Pixar hit. Our hero is Remy, a French rat (voiced by Patton Oswalt) with a cultivated palate, who rises from his humble beginnings to become head chef at a Paris restaurant. How this happens is the stuff of Pixar magic, that ineffable blend of headlong comedy, seamless technology, and wonder (in the latter department, this movie's views of nighttime Paris are on a par with French cinema at its most lyrical). Director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) doesn't quite keep all his spinning plates in the air, but the gags are great and the animation amazingly expressive--Remy's shrugs and nods are nimbler than many flesh-and-blood actors can manage. Refreshingly, the movie's characters aren't celebrity-reliant, with the most recognizable voice coming from Peter O'Toole's snide food critic. (This fellow provides the film's sole sour note--an oddly pointed slap at critics, those craven souls who have done nothing but rave about Pixar's movies over the years.) Brad Bird's style is more quick-hit and less resonant than the approach of Pixar honcho John Lasseter, but it's hard to complain about a movie that cooks up such bountiful pleasure. --Robert Horton

Ratatouille, from Pixar and Brad Bird (The Incredibles (Two-Disc Collector's Edition), The Iron Giant (Special Edition)), is a rat's-eye view of the gastronomic delights of fine cuisine (the name itself is a pun on the classic French roast vegetable dish ratatouille). Remy is a young rat who discovers that he has a heightened sense of taste and smell, and becomes inspired by the late television chef Auguste Gusteau (Brad Garrett), whose motto "anyone can cook" now extends to rats, too. Remy begins to experiment with combining classic combinations of flavor and texture, herbs, and other ingredients, until his clan is forced to flee their country safehouse.



During the traumatic escape, Remy is separated from his family. The ghost of Chef Gusteau appears to Remy when he is discouraged, inspiring him to cook at Gusteau's formerly-five star restaurant. The acid restaurant critic Anton Ego (Peter O'Toole) made it his personal mission to write a scathing review of Gusteau's that stripped it of one of its Michelin stars, consigning it to the tourist trade. Now, the restaurant is under the iron fist of the shady, domineering Head Chef Skinner (Ian Holm). Remy befriends the bumbling, couldn't-boil-water-if-his-life-depended-on-it Alfredo Linguini, whom Skinner grudgingly adopted as the new garbage boy, and Remy and Linguini team up to create culinary delights that astound the normally staid French restaurant critics. Remy controls Linguini by hiding under his chef's toque and tugging on two strands of hair (the scenes of Remy perfecting his technique with a blindfolded Linguini wielding dangerous tools and messy ingredients are priceless). Toss in a handful of intrigue, kitchen highjinks, father-son bonding, a dash of romance with the formidable chef Colette, and plenty of culinary delights, and you have Ratatouille.



The 3D animation is photorealistic, and 360 shots of nighttime Paris entrance. Small touches really capture the Bohemian feel of the Montmartre district, and the soundtrack features (brief) snippets of La Marseillaise, light and airy French themes, and French-language vocals by Camille (the standalone soundtrack Ratatouille is available for purchase). As with The Incredibles, there's lots to keep kids engaged (although the scene with the window full of dead rats might be traumatic for very young kids), and a whole other layer of adult humor bubbling under the surface, so mom and dad will be able to enjoy Ratatouille with gusto.

Customer Review: Good But Deep

Take a rat, add lots of wild and dangerous chase scenes, add a few recipes, finish off with a message that may be too deep for children and you might wind up with this film. This film is somewhere in the middle of Pixar's output. It is not the best but not the worst.

Our rat is unusual. He does not like the standard rat diet of garbage. He has a refined palette which his family exploits to check for poison. But he is unhappy. A violent episode lands him in Paris where he finds the restaurant of his chef hero. Here he has adventures with avoiding the staff and trying to cook. Add two villains (yes, two), the restaurant's current owner and a food critic and our rat's life gets very complicated.

This is a long film with much of it taken up by chase scenes. The cooking scenes are fun and clever. But in the middle we have the lone rat who does not fit in with other rats or with people as he keeps trying to be what he is not in order to please others. It is only in the end when he finds a way to be true to himself that things begin to go well. Great message but a little out there for the kids. The understood the message in Cars and The Incredibles but they didn't quite get this one as it a more adult problem. Still, it has plenty of the tings kids like while being intelligent enough for adults. Check it out.

I am not a "gamer" This was a purchase for my grandson at christmas. I am able to relate to his delight. Further, I feel that as intense as this game is the guide book was a good thing to include with the X-box and Halo game.Jamie says it is "way cool" with real great tips and tricks. I bet that you did not think that it was possible to get a big old bear hug from a 13 year old boy in front of his friends.
